Siena

Siena
"Siena, a mysterious city because it is made of a spiral, with the streets twisted one on top of the other, awaits us under the towers and a huge moon. It is the city of Italy that remained more whole: a city of the Middle Ages"
Guido Piovene

Siena, one of the most beautiful Medieval cities in Italy.

The heart of the city is the famous Piazza del Campo, with its particular shell shape. Here is held the famous Palio, one of the most important events for all the Sienese. The "Palio di Siena" is a passionate horse race that takes place every year, in July and August and its origins seem to date back to the seventeenth century.

Walking through the alleys of the city, the color of the facades of the buildings and the roofs stands out, that "Terra di Siena" known all over the world that makes the city landscape coherent, harmonious and beautiful to look at. Perhaps this is what makes Siena so fascinating and loved: it has remained intact as in the Middle Ages and is a kind of time travel, the search for a golden age that belonged to many other small and large Italian cities.
